Healing Remedies ➫ Kitty Kat & Charlie
Kathryn sighed. It was awful that anyone had to be sick, especially in such a seemingly wonderful place. Shuffling through the cabinets in her room she pulled out the ingredients for soup and dropped them carefully into a basket. If her papa taught her one thing when she was little, it was that when it’s made from scratch, it warms the soul. Food that was produced in factories and came from a can was simply a substitute for the real thing.
Her appearance was rather shaggy, but she figured Charlie wouldn’t mind, seeing as the only thing she would be doing is tending to the girl. Clad in some dark wash shorts and a light purple tanktop, Kat took off in the direction she was ordered. The pathway was a light stone, and the contrast between the rocks and the tan grains of sand made everything so bright. In all honesty, the longer she was on the island, the more her mind tried to understand why and how she was summed here. What was so special about her that she was brought to a place in the middle of no where, and injected with something that greatly altered her hormones.
Either way, today wasn’t about her. It was about Charlie, and her health. She’d had her fair share of “colds” in the past and knew that it would a dreadful burden to carry. Walking past the final row of rooms she stared intently at each of the plaques on the door, “622… 623… 624. Bingo.”
The Latina figured that it’d be okay to enter without knocking. If her “patient” was sleeping, she didn’t want to wake her. Speaking out in a hushed tone, Kathryn made her presence clear, “Charlie? Honey, it’s me Kathryn… If you don’t need anything right now I’m gonna start making your soup, okay?”
